Recent pictures have revealed Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan looking svelte after her various stints in rehab. But could her weight loss be down to more than healthy eating and exercise?

A picture featured in Grazia magazine shows Lohan clutching a bottle of VPX RedLine Fat Incinerator – a product designed to help bodybuilders ’shred’ body fat and to provide energy. But how good can this be for your health?

VPX RedLine contains extremely high amounts of caffeine and is designed to shred fat through the body’s shivering response. The shivering process burns body fat for energy to keep the body warm. VPX also causes the body to sweat. The formula, also available in a capsule, claims you can feel the effects within five minutes. The drink is only available for purchase in the US, however UK residents are able to buy it online.

Superintendent pharmacist Evelyn Mackenzie told Dunedin Napier News: “The caffeine is bad for your heart, it’s probably one step down from using speed. Your body needs time to recover and it’s certainly not advisable long term.”

Cheryl’s Got The X-Factor

December 16, 2008

There’s something about Cheryl Cole. I’m not quite sure what it is but 2008 has undoubtedly been the year where we paid her the attention she deserves. She may have started the year off on a low note when rumours hit the tabloids about her husband Ashley’s alleged infidelities but we admired the way she handled it.

Her career then went from strength to strength when she was picked as the new X-Factor  judge and she finished the year with her very own Vogue photo shoot (minus the rest of Girls Aloud).

So what is it we love about Cheryl? Her X-Factor debut almost certainly has something to do with it – she laughed, she cried, she seemed to have put her marriage crisis behind her. Then there were her outfits for the live finals. Week after week she appeared in show stopping designer outfits by Dolce and Gabbana, Julien MacDonald, Matthew Williamson, Krystof Strozyna and Derek Lam to name a few.

Outfits aside Cheryl’s the sort of girl who looks like she could be your best friend. She could be a good laugh, a shoulder to cry on AND you could borrow from her fab wardrobe (well, if you were a size zero).

In short, Cheryl’s the sort of person you can relate to. She’s had her bad times and she’s pulled herself up with a new career looking better than ever. Quite simply she has what many of the show’s contestants seemed to be lacking – The X-Factor.
